The Protective Services Division of the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department is charged with investigating all reports of child abuse or neglect in accordance with the New Mexico Children’s Code. CYFD’s Protective Services Division is mandated to investigate reports of children in need of protection from abuse and/or neglect by their parent, guardian or custodian.
