Assistance League of Chaves County is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization transforming lives through community programs. Operation School Bell dresses approximately 600 K-8th grade students in need in the Pecos Valley. KAPS (Kids are Pretty Special) provides car seats, clothing, diapers, and other essentials for infants taken from meth homes in partnership with the CASA program. The organization also provides monthly birthday and holiday celebrations for nursing home residents and new backpacks filled with blankets, gloves, and food for homeless people. They operate a thrift store to fund their programs and host local museum functions. Founded in 1960, all donations stay in Chaves County to benefit adults and children in need.
