Primary care is provided by clinicians specifically trained for comprehensive first contact and continuing care for persons with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern. Primary care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of health care settings. Primary care provides patient advocacy in the health care system to accomplish cost-effective care by coordination of health care services. Primary care promotes effective communication with patients and encourages the role of the patient as a partner in health care.
Women’s health involves women’s emotional, social, cultural, spiritual and physical well being, and is determined by the social, political, cultural and economic context of women’s lives, as well as by biology.
Additionally, in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Health, Casa de Salud is able to offer comprehensive women’s health visits through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening (BCC) Program.
The enrollment qualifications are as follows: above the age of 21, no health insurance or underinsured, and low income.
Casa de Salud has a syringe exchange based at the clinic. All are welcome at the following hours to exchange used needles for new needles, or to receive narcan (naloxone), a powerful life-saving tool for opioid overdoses.
